Pixverse, is a Widget and Widget-app developer fro social networks that found their breakthrough at hi5. now hi5 has acquired the open social widget developer thanks to their Social Chat Widget called Pixchat.

Pixchat is the evolution of those old chat widgets you used to place in your blog back in 2005. those like Tagboard and boxchat where you could chat with others that were visiting your page.

Pixchat does that and way more than that. it can be used as a Chat Widget for your blog, but it is also connected to hi5. so everyone that is live at hi5 that passed a profile, blog or the widget install page with the pixchat  in it shows in the background as a Pixwall made of hi5 user picons.

But also those that are not logged to hi5 show locally as guests if they pass a page where the widget is installed.

Pixchat main objective is to show online users in hi5 and wherever the widget is placed. those that stay in a page where the widget is will appear separated from the pixwall to show they are active and ready to chat. you can chat right away into what would be the public chat of the widget to interact with all of those active in it.

You can interact with anyone showing in pixchat more personally by clicking once in any user picon. this will show you a menu where you can choose to move the picon, go to the user hi5 profile or have a private chat with them right there in the pixchat widget.

A very interesting chat widget thanks to the social networking integration with hi5. right now it is a little raw but the fact that it is done in flash allow it to be changed rapidly. just imagine when they add channels to the widget and thanks to the now hi5 official connection a lot can be done to improve the communication done with it. it could easily turn in hi5 version of Social IM too if they wanted it.

There is no doubt we will see more of this widget ad more like these popping up elsewhere. the next right fit would be Myspace. more if they can also connect their IM solution to something like this.

I think pixchat is a great widget not because its has a incredible amount of potential and hi5 should assure it can evolve as fast they can so it can carry more customization and options because it is a great example of Widget Gold.
