1500 Nexus S 4G to be given away at Sprint’s Open Solutions Conference

September 26th, 2011

Register for the Sprint’s Open Solutions Conference today!

Samsung and Sprint are giving away 1500 Nexus S 4G’s and one month of Sprint service to the first 1500 registered attendees of the Sprint Open Solutions Conference in November.

The Nexus S 4G is currently the only Sprint phone with the NFC technology that will be a focus point at the conference. Hence the giveaway.

Unfortunately, this leads us to believe that the much rumored Nexus Prime either:

    1. Does not exist 🙁
    2. Does not have NFC capabilities 🙁
    3. Will not launch prior to the Nov 2 Conference start date 🙁
    4. ?

First images– Samsung Epic 4G Touch (Sprint)

Impressive Specs (even if they are considered outdated)

The Samsung Galaxy S II features a 4.3 inch superAMOLED Plus screen and a dual core 1.2 ghz processor. The camera is an 8 mega pixel beast with LED flash, smile detection, auto focus, panorama and more. There is also a 2gb front facing camera for video chat over Sprint’s 4G (wimax) network.

I was kinda leaning towards the Motorola Photon… but these specs have me thinking a bit differently.
The only thing that might sway me from getting the Epic 4G Touch would be the Nexus Prime w/Android 4.0

Sprint– This is not the iPhone 5 you are looking for

August 29th, 2011

Looks like Sprint is trying to hide something…maybe? Unfortunately they probably have to hide the fact that the iPhone 5 is coming to their network. My guess is that it’s an Apple rule that is to blame.(speculation of course)
It may also simply be that the Big Boss Man of Sprint wants to be the one to reveal the news.

I can’t understand what the big deal is. Sprint has had many very successful Android phones. Of course, Apple iPhone is considered, by many, to be the top of the line in smartphones.

Whatever the case, it will be interesting to see how long this secret is kept.

EVO 4G gets OTA update

June 28th, 2010

The ‘over the air’ update may include performance enhancements to WiFi, various Active Sync enhancements and a rumored solution to the social networking sync bug that wastes your battery.

This is a 21.43 MB file, so it must contain something useful. I wonder when Froyo will be delivered to the EVO?
