Google Web Elements has released the Translate Element.

This is a simple copy and paste embed code that adds translation functionality to your web site.

Lets see how it looks and performs.

Correction:
I had to display an image for the Translate button in order to place the actual widget in my sidebar. Otherwise there was a conflict.

…Damn…that was fast!
I think the Google Translate Element just kicked the shit out of ConveyThis…sorry guys…but you’re out of here.

I may have to look at some other Google Web Elements.

The Bing Translator widget allows visitors to your blog to easily translate it into their language of choice. (no Klingon yet)

Setting up the widget is very simple.
1. enter the web address of your page
2. choose your color
3. choose your width
4. agree to the Microsoft Terms of Service
5. submit
6. copy the code (JavaScript)

and there you have it.

Does this translator work for you?

November 22nd, 2008

I happened across this Real Estate page where this Agent was pleased that she had a new “Translation widget”.

I looked around and found this widget about 3/4 down the page.

I thought I would paste it here so you can try it out and compare it to ConveyThis, the Translate widget that we currently use. (found top right…just under the search)

Is the widget that Mirela Monte currently uses… better than > or < worse than...the one currently used on Widgets Lab.com?
