Tweeterized Active Badge Generator

September 4th, 2008

Too many Twitter Active Badge Generators being covered by Widgets Lab in the last months?. there is no such as too many. so because of that i am totally OK with the new addition to that very specific Twitter based niche service:

Tweeterized. the service is a direct competition to Tweetsnap, tweetstamp and TwitterTag.

Just like those. it generated a Twitter Active Badge you can use everywhere.

The badges come in two sizes and in 5 colors with the same design.but the overall look is clean and it does looks nice.

The thing with these kind of services is style. one service style will be liked by some, hated by others. So that is why is a good thing to have a  selection of competing services. it is also a good thing in case one of the services fails or disappears suddenly into the night. that way you got another one as a fall back you can get to use.

as with the other services. i think being able to offer customization and many design patters is the way to do things right because that way  you can cater to  different tastes.

AddTweets: JS Latest Tweets Twitter Blog Badge Generator

August 28th, 2008

Because there is no such thing as too many Twitter widgets. AddTweets is a very simple and basic JavaScript Latest Tweets Twitter Badge Generator for you Blog Sidebar. you can show from one to ten of you latest tweets. given how it integrates and how truly basic it is because there is close to no look at all. it should only recommended for blog where it makes sense aesthetically.

In the photo you can see what your customizing options are and they are just about how the text renders. nothing much than that. still a simple and effective tool for anyone that is looking for a twitter badge and don`t mind it to be in JavaScript. my only complaint with it is that there should be some skins. since you are going to place a script in your page. it should reward you with something better looking. otherwise a active photo badge may be a better choice.

TwitStamp: a sleek twitter active badge generator

August 7th, 2008

Yes, this is another Active Badge generator based on Twitter. but the good thing is that it is even better done than the competition and it also looks different. having a choice is important and twitstamp also gives you a bit of that.

The page is as sleek as the one by Tweetsnap if not more but uses the design approach of TwitterTag for the badges and the design is sleeker than the one from Tweetsnap or TwitterTag:

twitstamp.fluidmarkup.com

Unlike Tweetsnap that offers one single design or TwitterTag that allows customization only by changing the colors in it. TwitStamp offers you choice with six designs for your TwitStamp Badge:

So, you have 6 different styles for your badge and that is good addition. i would still like even more styles and color settings but even then. this badge is already good as it is. just like the others. you can use it everywhere. from your blog, to your website, to a forum or even in your e-mails if you want

One extra detail TwitStamp got is that you can also generate a static badge for a specific Tweet:

tmp128

You only need the status number of the tweet as instructed in TwitStamp and you can also generate a static badge of one of yours favorite tweets or your favorite tweet from anyone in twitter.

TwitStamp is a project done by FluiMarkup who speciality is doing PSP specific projects. so this looks like their first web project for the general public. i like what i see from them , so that gives them some extra points and they should be able to get more customization and styles to this service. will keep my eye on them.

TwitStamp

*UPDATE 08/08/08*: they now got the twitstamp.com domain so i changed it to the now official domain, they added two new styles and i also added them to the previous picture in this post.

TwitterCard: Twitter Widget as a ID card or as a Ad square

July 30th, 2008

Another week goes by and another Twitter Widget comes in. this time is TwitterCard. the idea is to generate little square that is quite alike to Twitter official widget badge but that looks better and use it as Identification Card or as temporal or permanent 125 x 125 Ad square in your blog.

The Widget generated is in JavaScript and it is a nice novelty widget option for not using the official Twitter Widget Badge. there is also a WordPress Widget version of it for a better integration on WordPress based blogs.
