Remember Mixwit?, Mixwit is the competition of Muxtape, the difference is that Mixwit is better, cooler and got some -Neo-Retro bonus chops in my book that simply make it my favorite music widget by far.
If you still need to be reminded of what it is. it is simply a way to share your online music backup as flash digital objects that look like old school cassettes and that even if you don`t have a online music back up, you can use their music search engines (right now they got skreemer and seeqpod) to generate your cassete with either basic skins they provide you with or add your own.
And they have just updated the Widget with something Muxtape users had to hack in and that only those using a mac could get at.
What exactly that would be?, well they updated it with a phodeo (you may know it now as Coverflow) like menu right in the widget, aptly called “widgetflow” and i must say it rocks and makes sharing the cassettes the equivalent to share a small music collection in one go.
 That way you can easily browse a entire collection of 20 mixwate tapes without leaving the widget and the page you are in, that means you never having to leave the page and neither your visitors if you using a Mixwit widget in your Blog.

Grand Theft Auto IV, the fourth installment of the most controversial, successful and groundbreaking video game franchise from the modern era is a game that even if don`t need no introduction, i still feel obliged to do so.
I played GTA since the start and i have played every game in the franchise to date (and not that i need GTA geek credits, but i have played all of them to 100%), it`s basis take from gaming models first started oddly enough by a Dick Tracy nes game. (i bet you didn`t know that) but that jumped to fame with GTA III because it broke all the rules on conventional console games by introducing the sandbox gaming model in a way it is still unmatched. i know, i played saints row (good), true crime (horrible), narc (horrible), the godfather (ok), mafia (very good), 50 cent (horrible), just cause (mediocre), total overdose (ok) and pretty much every other sandbox game daring to take the throne of GTA, it has not happened yet so GTA remains the best of its kind.
There are three main elements in GTA beyond the story and they are the reason i love the game: 1.-Freedom
You could play the game story and resolve how to solve each level as you see fit or do whatever you want for as long as you wanted and even invent your own ways to play in the sandbox and you would be able to enjoy it.
2.-The Scope
The scope of the game is huge, it is a private virtual world and it is only yours to play while your resolve the story and even after.
3.-Social Critique
The world inside GTA is a raw parody of the real USA, the real USA seen without any filters and that is not afraid to show you the pointy dangerous things in it while having a laugh at them at the same time. it is so full of irony, sarcasm and cynicism that i cannot help myself but love all of it.
it should not be a surprise that the game studio is not from USA but from Scotland.

But enough of that, i am here to show some cool widgets coming from GTA IV, but i got carried away to give you a amusing (i hope) introduction instead of just throwing them around in a post without offering any context to them.

I.-Main GTA IV Widget
This is the Official GTA IV widget and it consist of a Promo Kit Widget in flash that provides you with screenshots from the game, videos , the latest news, a easy way to access the most relevant links and Auto -Share the code of the widget to anyone that sees it.
II.-GTA World Widgets
They form part of the usual viral campaign that usally goes along every GTA release, with the difference that this time this campaign has now been widgetized too. the change of times.. new tools, same effect.
1.- Sprunk: The Essence of Life
An obvious parody to ______ and it`s campaign from the last years with very low punches like all the connotations from the name they chosen; to what the phrases they use to promote the product truly mean in reflection of such name, etc.
it comes with a downloads section, a mini game and a very cool screensaver.
2.- Love Meet: making you whole again (Quiz Survey)
An acid complains to online dating sites in general with some sample profiles and that comes with quiz where the result are kinds over the top. it also counts with the option to auto share a promo badge widget from the love-meet site or to offer just the quiz by itself.
3.-Whiz Mobile… What is in your Whiz Flip? (Advert)
A commercial that for some reason share a striking resemblance to some ones, go figure.
4.-Liberty Swingers
Promo widget for the baseball team of liberty city that got a play of words and jokes for those in the know that do not need to be explained with information section, downloads and all.
5.-Banging Trashcan Lids for an Hour!
Oh my, if that is not the most direct punch Rockstar has thrown, i don`t know what could it be. it comes with download, gift store, information and you even find some “quality” ringtones in it.

Those are all the most poignant Widgets from the GTA game right now in having in consideration that pretty much everything in the GTA IV site is shareable as a widget, but not everything can be qualified to be a worthy widget to post if we stick to the widgets having to be in promo kit widget form as i have done here, but if more of the promo kit ones appear i will add them to this post.

I apologize for the Auto Play or size of the widgets, that is a bad choice made by rockstar games, the widgets don`t have settings for that unfortunately.
Ipartee is not a new startup. but they recently did a update to offer a Widget version of their service and the idea it is enticing,the model of the idea could be pretty much compared to a widget ad and the press kit in widget form. just take that form and refocus it for events and that is exactly what the ipartee widget offers, a way to share the information about a even before the even happens and that can be updated to reflect what happened at the event once it is finished, so you could share part of the experience of what the event was because people can leave comments about it, you can upload notes and photos as a recollection of it.
pretty simple. we have seen lots of widgets like these but the refocusing of the form thanks to the idea and the fact that it is a extension of a service is what makes it useful and valid.
The only thing i would want is if they offered a Flash or Silverlight Version of it instead of just a Script version, this is a widget that could be very easily used in Social networks like myspace and beyond.
