Minitube 1.7 Released PPA ~ Web Upd8: Ubuntu / Linux blog

January 5th, 2012

Minitube 1.7 Released PPA ~ Web Upd8: Ubuntu / Linux blog.

Being able to download Youtube videos is not exactly what was intended by the owners of Youtube. However, it seems as though they have turned a somewhat blind eye to the practice. This is why applications like minitube keep getting developed.

Minutube, a simple application which you can use to download and play YouTube videos without Flash, has reached version 1.7.

Among the most important changes in Minitube 1.7 are:

Clickable usernames in the playlist (so you can see more videos from a certain user/channel)
“Manually start playing” option
“Stop after this video” option
Window “Float on Top” option
Ability to skip to the previous video

Hangout at YouTube with your Google+ friends

August 19th, 2011

Google has updated Google+…and YouTube Yay!

They have integrated YouTube with Google+ Hangouts, giving users a one-click option on the video streaming site so that they can instantly watch clips with their friends. You will now find “Watch with friends, Start A Google+ Hangout” in the “Share” menu underneath YouTube videos.

This is cool!

Google menu bars now follow you when scrolling down the screen. This is a feature that was quickly added to many Google+ extensions for Chrome, although here the engineers have been clever about it and, if youhappen to be on a smaller display, the bar will remain fixed to give you more screen real estate. 🙂

Greed + YouTube+ Rebecca Black

June 13th, 2011

Seems really lame to put a price on watching a music video on YouTube. It’s basically FREE advertising and now you want to monetize it? I predict epic FAIL.

Amplify’d from thenextweb.com

Rebecca Black’s Friday will now cost you $2.99 on YouTube

Yes, it’s true. The video with over three million dislikes would now appreciate it very much if you would pay $2.99 for the displeasure of having to listen to it in its entirety. Hard to believe? Yeah, for me too. But here’s your screenshot proof:
